The machine is to be commercialised within the next 12 months.

Nexa3D, an additive manufacturing vendor backed by XponentialWorks, has announced the launch of the Varseo XL resin-based 3D printing system at IDS 2019 in Cologne, Germany.

The Varseo XL is the latest addition to a portfolio of 3D printers marketed and sold by BEGO, a provider of dental materials. It will be commercialised in the next 12 months and made available through BEGO’s reseller network.

Manufactured by Nexa3D, the Varseo XL is powered by the company’s Lubricant Sublayer Photo-curing (LSPc) technology. LSPc harnesses a uniform light source and ‘High Contrast’ (HC) mask to project 3D slices to the vat, before a self-lubricating membrane ensures a ‘no-stick zone’ between the part being printed and the vat. The company says the process can hit top speeds of 1 centimetre per minute in the Z axis, and with the Varseo XL’s 270 x 165 x 200 mm build volume, has the potential to have a big impact on dental lab production, producing parts in minutes rather than hours.
